Our Mission
The American Muslim Experience (AME) is dedicated to educating the public about the diversity of American Muslim stories through multimedia storytelling products. Our goal is to foster understanding, empathy, and social progress by showcasing the cultural, religious, and personal experiences of everyday American Muslims.
Through publication, exhibitions, educational programs, and community engagement programs, we aim to dispel stereotypes through authentic narratives, combat Islamophobia ignorance with education, and promote a more patriotic, inclusive society.
Our Vision
We envision a society where American Muslim experiences are valued and embraced by all citizens, contributing to a deeper understanding and appreciation of the vast cultural diversity in the United States.
We aspire to create a platform for storytelling that transcends barriers and fosters curiosity, unity, and respect.
By empowering American Muslims to share their authentic experiences, we are building a future where their voices enrich the broader narrative, inspire patriotic pride, and drive positive societal progress.
What We Do
Documentary Stories
Our narrative work highlights authentic and personal experiences. We capture the diverse stories of American Muslims through documentary photography, audio interviews, and multimedia storytelling.
Exhibits & Publications
We reach a broader audience, foster understanding, and challenge stereotypes through public exhibitions, photo books, and visual content that share unique narratives.
Educational Outreach
We develop curriculum and educational programming for schools, universities, and community organizations to promote cultural awareness, inclusivity, and engagement with Muslim community members.
Community Engagement
Through collaborations with local communities, we host events, celebrations, and discussions that encourage dialogue and create connections between American Muslims and their neighbors.
